FNI and IGC Launch International Human Rights Course at Coimbra, Portugal

Coimbra, Portugal – June 25, 2023 – The Ius Gentium Conimbrigae (IGC) | Human Rights Center of the University of Coimbra, in joint action with the Facts and Norms Institute (FNI), are pleased to announce the "I Advanced Course on International Law and Human Rights," which will take place from January 30 to February 2, 2024, in Coimbra, Portugal.


This unique event aims to gather Portuguese-speaking students, teachers, researchers, and professionals from Law and International Relations to expand their knowledge and strengthen their networks. The course is designed to be inclusive, inviting professionals from both the public and private sectors across all areas of Law. It encourages the exchange of ideas and the establishment of meaningful collaborations in the field of International Law and Human Rights.


The Course will be held in-person, spanning four days, from January 30 to February 2, 2024.
It offers a singular opportunity for learning, networking, and cultural immersion.

Highlights of the program include lectures from internationally renowned academics and professionals, including the current Director of the Faculty of Law at the University of Coimbra. Additionally, participants will have the exclusive chance to present and publish their works, providing them with a unique platform to showcase their knowledge and expertise.


All attendees will receive a certificate issued by the IGC and will have the opportunity to become an associate of the Facts and Norms Institute for a year. As part of the course, complimentary materials on international law and human rights will be provided to all.

About the Facts and Norms Institute

The Facts and Norms Institute is an independent academic institution based in the Global South with a network of researchers from all inhabited continents.
